In Nicosia..

I was in Nicosia with my friends and were visiting a cafe near Selimiye Mosque. I have been there before, but this time I was enchanted by its beauty. The impressive combination of gothic and islamic architecture is brilliant. A perfect marriage between two religions, does not look odd. Infact, it brings harmony and ambiance. How I wish, politicians on the both sides of the border feel the same and bring a solution to the island soon to reap the benefits of peace. Hope and pray....

When precisely was it converted from church to mosque, any idea? and who would have been the worshippers there when it was a church? Crusaders? Venetians?
